In their 2006 World Health Report , the WHO (World Health Organisation) stated that: “This report defines health workers to be all people engaged in actions whose primary intent is to enhance health.”
This definition as accurate today as it was then, but the means by which healthcare workers enhance the health of their communities goes far beyond diagnosing physical ailments and administering medication. Their dedication to care and their commitment to the wellbeing and happiness of those in their charge continually invokes public praise and gratitude.
So it’s not surprising that if someone approaches us and says that “I am a health care professional and I want to foster” we are eager to help. Their training and commitment to their role could make them the ideal person for fostering children.
