What makes us different? We pride ourselves on three main areas: Dedication, Commitment, and Support.
We understand that starting your fostering journey is not done light heartedly. It truly can change the lives of both you and your foster child for the better, and can enrich your life with the nurture and development of a young adult. We are dedicated and committed to ensuring both you and your foster child get the right support, guidance and information whenever you need it.
Fostering to Inspire was founded with the aim of providing quality care and foster placements to the children and young adults who are in need.
The main contact point for people who work with us at Fostering to Inspire is in Wakefield, where our head office is based. From here we have an expanding network of committed carers and supporters, making fostering in Yorkshire an enjoyable process for everyone involved.
We strive to achieve a positive and long lasting effect on young lives through offering continued support to our foster carers in whatever area of fostering they need it most.
Our vision for fostering children includes supporting both child and carer, so that whether you’re completely new to foster care, or have years of experience, our highly trained staff can assist and support the needs of both you and your foster child. Whether you are fostering in Wakefield, the surrounding district, or further afield, we will be on hand to help you at all times.
Fostering to Inspire is actively associated with the UK’s leading fostering charity The Fostering Network (TFN) in implementing its imaginative Mockingbird programme, centred around the Mockingbird Family Model. This helps us to make sure fostering in Yorkshire is the best it can be, both for carer and child.TFN describes this as “an innovative method of delivering foster care using an extended family model which provides respite care, peer support, regular joint planning and training, and social activities." This offers children and their adult carers an excellent level of high quality continuous support to ensure the best possible fostering outcomes.
The Mockingbird Family Model offers support based on an extended family structure. Clusters of foster families form constellations of support with a central foster carer at its heart, acting like a ‘Grandma/Granddad’ or ‘favourite Auntie/Uncle’. The Mockingbird Family Model programme therefore ensures that both the children and the adults that care for them can find quality, tangible support to help them flourish.
As a fostering agency, we understand that maintaining a positive home environment is vital for fostering children successfully. Making the choice to become a foster parent is a life changing decision, and can enhance a family dynamic as well as help a child.
